Fine Silver Jewellery
Here at Pickle and Ginger we also enjoy making a few pieces of handmade silver jewellery. We craft every item using silver clay, sterling silver chains and semi precious stone beads to create a unique piece every time.
Silver clay is a 'Green' product. It contains particles of pure silver reclaimed from the printed circuit boards from old and defunct electrical devices. The recycled silver particles are mixed with finely milled cotton fibers from recycled paper and clothes and a non-toxic binder. This 'clay' can then be crafted into pieces of jewellery which when fired leave fine silver (99%)
We handcraft each charm using various methods. Hand embossing - using a fine syringe to 'pipe' a design, freehand onto the charm. Press - using a leaf, tiny object or stamp to press the design into the charm. Cast - taking tiny objects, man-made or natural and producing a mould which the silver can they be crafted into. Sculpted-charm created by sculpting the clay freehand.
We often combine our handmade silver clay charms with semi-precious gem stones, silver beads and pearls. We use old and vintage jewellery, recycling the beads to create totally unique pieces. Each item is sent to you in beautiful packaging with its own story of origin or details of the properties of the semi-precious stones used.
